Department of General Services: local educational agencies: portable electronic equipment.

Existing law authorizes the Director of General Services to consolidate the needs of multiple state agencies and establish contracts, master agreements, multiple award schedules, and other types of agreements that leverage the state's buying power, as specified. Existing law authorizes the director to make the services of the Department of General Services available to school districts, and authorizes school districts to use agreements established by the department for the acquisition of information technology, goods, and services. This bill would require the department to seek bids for the purchase of portable electronic equipment and establish a process for local educational agencies to purchase the equipment under terms negotiated by the department.
