Business: corporations and financial services.

Existing law provides for the licensure and regulation of various professions and vocations by boards within the Department of Consumer Affairs, including the licensure and regulation of real estate appraisers by the Bureau of Real Estate Appraisers. Existing law provides for the organization and governance of specified business entities, including corporations and partnerships. Existing law establishes the Department of Business Oversight, headed by the Commissioner of Business Oversight, and provides that the department is in charge of the execution of specified laws relating to various financial institutions and financial services, including banks, trust companies, credit unions, finance lenders, and residential mortgage lenders. This bill would make various technical changes to these and other provisions of law, including updating cross-references and definitions in accordance with changes made to the law pursuant to Chapter 243 of the Statutes of 2011 and updating cross-references to certain federal laws and federal regulatory entities.
