Financial institutions.
Summary
Existing law establishes the Department of Financial Institutions in the Business, Transportation and Housing Agency and provides that the department is in charge of the execution of specified laws relating to various financial institutions and financial services. This bill would revise and recast various provisions of the Financial Code applicable to financial institutions and financial services regulated by the department and would make other conforming changes. The bill would also require a bank that establishes a branch office in this state in accordance with the National Bank Act, as amended by the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act of 2010, to provide a specified notice to the Commissioner of Financial Institutions within 10 days of the establishment, relocation, or redesignation of offices. The bill would make other conforming changes should AB 109 of the 2011–12 Regular Session become operative.
