Inmate release: notification.
Summary
Existing law requires the Board of Parole Hearings or the Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, as specified, to notify certain persons who have requested notification when an inmate who has committed a violent felony is scheduled to be released. This bill would require the department to develop a unified statewide electronic mail victim notification system for notifying victims who request that notification of parole hearings or release dates for their offenders be sent to them by e-mail.
