Political Reform Act of 1974.
Summary
Existing law defines the term "officer" for the purposes of contribution limitations to a member of a board by a person or entity appearing before the board, under the Political Reform Act of 1974. The definition of "officer" includes members who are elected by the public. This bill would amend the definition of "officer" under these provisions to exclude elected members of board. The Political Reform Act of 1974, an initiative measure, provides that the Legislature may amend the act to further the act's purposes upon a 23 vote of each house and compliance with specified procedural requirements. This bill would declare that it furthers the purposes of the act.
