AB 2131 California Assembly · 2009-2010 Regular Session

Budget Act of 2009: revisions.

Summary
Under existing law, the state, through the State Department of Social Services and county welfare departments, is required to establish and support a public system of statewide child welfare services. These services are directed toward, among other purposes, protecting and promoting the welfare of all children, including those in foster care placement. The Budget Act of 2009 (Chapter 1 of the 2009–10 Third Extraordinary Session) made appropriations for the support of state government for the 2009–10 fiscal year. This bill would make revisions in those appropriations for the 2009–10 fiscal year, for specified child welfare services purposes.
