Public K-12 education, employment, qualifications, and training of technology directors

This bill updates the job title for technology coordinators in Alabama's public K-12 schools to technology directors and establishes specific minimum qualifications for the role. To be eligible, new directors must hold a degree in a technology-related field or possess a degree in another area combined with relevant work experience and industry certifications. The legislation also mandates that these directors complete a mandatory training program and annual continuing education courses provided by the Alabama Leaders in Educational Technology. Additionally, the law allows school systems that cannot find qualified candidates to request a waiver from the State Superintendent of Education.
