Eligibility for automatic restoration of voting rights is now limited to nonviolent felons who completed their sentence before January 1, 2010, or those convicted outside Wyoming under federal law who request restoration after completing their sentence.
New requirement for the Department of Corrections to notify the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms when a person's right to use or possess firearms is restored.
New requirement for the Department of Corrections to file a copy of the restoration certificate with the Secretary of State.
New requirement for the Department of Corrections to notify the Division of Criminal Investigation when rights are restored.
Definition of violent felony was updated to include offenses committed in other jurisdictions that would be considered violent felonies if committed in Wyoming.
