Permits a locality to allow the installation of automaticwater-filled or wet-pipe fire sprinkler systems in new townhome construction.The bill provides that such ordinance shall require the installationbe completed in compliance with standards, requirements, and specificationsfor the installation of an automatic water-filled or wet-pipe firesprinkler system as prescribed by the National Fire Protection Association'sNFPA 13, Standard for the Installation of Sprinkler Systems.An automatic water-filled or wet-pipe fire sprinkler system shallnot be required when additions or alterations are made to existingtownhomes that do not have an automatic residential fire sprinklersystem installed.
