Search warrants; return to jurisdiction where executed.
Summary
Provides that return made on search warrants for records or other information pertaining to a subscriber to, or customer of, an electronic communication service or remote computing service shall be made in the circuit court clerk's office for the jurisdiction where the warrant was executed, if executed within the Commonwealth, or issued, if executed outside the Commonwealth. Currently, the return on such warrants is made in the circuit court clerk's office for the jurisdiction where the warrant was executed. The bill also provides that a copy of the return shall be delivered to the clerk of the circuit court where the warrant was issued if the warrant was executed within the Commonwealth.
