MARKET Act of 2026

The MARKET Act of 2026 requires the Secretary of Agriculture to annually assess and report on the risks of U.S. agricultural exports, such as soybeans and corn, being exploited by foreign adversaries. This bill mandates that the report identify vulnerabilities in current markets and propose strategies to reduce reliance on these countries by shifting trade to nonadversarial nations. To support this process, the Secretary may voluntarily collect data from private entities while ensuring all specific information remains confidential and is only used for the assessment. The requirement to submit these reports will end only when the Secretary determines that U.S. export markets have been sufficiently diversified.
