Nuclear Forensics Authority Realignment Act

This bill creates a new National Nuclear Forensics Center within the National Nuclear Security Administration to coordinate the federal government's efforts against nuclear terrorism. The center will oversee planning, research, and training to improve the nation's ability to analyze nuclear materials and attribute their origins. It also repeals a previous law and updates related statutes to officially transfer this authority from the Department of Homeland Security to the Department of Energy. Additionally, the legislation requires the development of a university program to train experts in nuclear forensics within one year of enactment.
