STABLE DRC Act

The STABLE DRC Act authorizes the President to impose sanctions on foreign individuals or entities that violate the 2025 peace agreement between the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Rwanda or undermine regional stability. These penalties include blocking financial assets within the United States and revoking or denying visas to targeted aliens, while excluding humanitarian aid and essential medical supplies from restrictions. The legislation is designed to enforce the peace accord by holding parties accountable for hostile acts, such as those committed by the Rwandan Defense Forces or the FDLR, and the sanctions authority will expire seven years after the bill is enacted.
