PATH to the Foreign Service Act

This bill allows former officers from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) to transfer into the Department of State's Foreign Service career track. It waives the requirement for these individuals to take the standard Foreign Service Entrance Exam if they previously met entry requirements and served in good standing. The legislation also grants hiring preference points to applicants with prior USAID experience and ensures their previous service counts toward seniority and retirement eligibility. The Department of State must issue implementation guidance within 180 days, and the law is set to expire five years after enactment.
