STAR Act

This bill, known as the STAR Act, grants the NASA Administrator and licensed space launch operators the authority to take specific actions against unmanned aircraft that pose a security threat to their facilities and launch sites. The legislation allows these entities to detect, track, warn, and disable drones without prior consent, including seizing or destroying them if necessary to mitigate safety risks. It also requires posting warning signs at covered facilities, submitting detailed reports on enforcement actions to law enforcement and government officials, and establishing liability for drone operators whose aircraft cause damage during these security measures.
