Farmers’ AID Relief Act

This bill amends federal crop insurance rules to create a new "Hurricane Insurance Protection-Wind Index endorsement" (HIP-WI) for farmers. It requires the Agriculture Secretary to use NOAA's hurricane data (IBTrACS) as the primary method to determine if a county qualifies for insurance payments after a hurricane, starting in 2027. If that data is incomplete due to damaged weather stations or data sources, the Secretary may use an alternative dataset collected by NWS-certified weather stations at land-grant universities.
