HR 5047 United States House · 119th Congress

No Woke Indoctrination of Military Kids Act

This bill prohibits the Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) from using federal funds to teach or promote critical race theory (defined as theories claiming inherent racial superiority, collective guilt, or systemic racism in U.S. institutions) in classrooms, training, or curricula for military-connected students. It also bans DoDEA from maintaining diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) offices, hiring DEI officers, developing DEI-related training, or creating resource groups based on race, gender, or other protected characteristics - except for existing Equal Employment Opportunity or ADA enforcement offices. The bill affects all students in DoDEA schools (serving military families) and requires the Secretary of Defense to enforce compliance, with penalties including termination for violations. Parents can file complaints about suspected violations, and the law takes effect within 60 days of enactment.
