CBP Workload Staffing Model Act
This bill requires U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) to develop staffing models for the U.S. Border Patrol and Air and Marine Operations within one year of enactment. The models must account for frontline duties, operating environments, infrastructure, technology, and support needs to ensure proper staffing levels. CBP must also implement a workforce tracking system with training and internal controls for reporting work hours, and submit annual reports to Congress on implementation progress. An Inspector General review is mandated 120 days after model development to assess compliance with prior audit recommendations.
