Accelerating Access to Dementia and Alzheimer’s Provider Training Act

The entire new Alzheimer's-specific grant program was removed, including its own definitions of eligible entity and eligible health care professional, a requirement for grants to be awarded within 1 year of enactment, supplement-not-supplant requirements, and separate reporting obligations to the Advisory Council on Alzheimer's Research, Care, and Services.

The existing Project ECHO grant program is expanded to cover 'dementia care' as an additional service area alongside palliative care, rather than creating a separate Alzheimer's-specific program.

The separate authorization of $1,000,000 per year for FY2027-2032 specifically for Alzheimer's-related dementia care grants was removed. The general $10,000,000 per year authorization for FY2022-2032 was also removed and replaced with a single amended authorization.

The eligible entity definition in Section 330N(a)(1) is amended to explicitly include 'a public or nonprofit private entity,' broadening who can apply for Project ECHO grants.

The authorization of appropriations period is shifted from fiscal years 2022 through 2026 to fiscal years 2027 through 2031, effectively extending the program's funding window by five years into the future.
