Remote Opioid Monitoring Act of 2025

HR 2404, the Remote Opioid Monitoring Act of 2025, requires the Comptroller General to study the use of remote monitoring for people prescribed opioids. The study, due within 18 months of enactment, will assess remote monitoring's effectiveness, cost impacts, current usage in the U.S. and other countries, and recommend ways to improve access through federal health programs. It does not change current policies or directly affect patients, but aims to inform future decisions about coverage and implementation. The report will help determine if remote monitoring could benefit specific patient groups and how to expand its use.
