HR 1764 United States House · 119th Congress

Aligning SEC Regulations for the World Bank’s International Development Association Act

HR 1764 exempts International Development Association (IDA) securities from most U.S. securities regulations, meaning IDA bonds and guarantees won't require standard SEC filings under the Securities Act of 1933 or Securities Exchange Act of 1934. The IDA must still submit annual reports to the SEC about these securities, tailored to its development mission. The SEC can temporarily suspend this exemption if needed and must report to Congress about its use. This exemption only applies if the Treasury doesn't certify that the IDA is providing financial assistance to countries designated as terrorism supporters under existing laws.
