S 5205 United States Senate · 118th Congress

San Pablo Bay National Wildlife Refuge Expansion Act

This bill expands the San Pablo Bay National Wildlife Refuge in Marin, Napa, Solano, and Sonoma Counties, California, by adding approximately 5,658 acres of land, marshes, tidal flats, and water areas to its boundaries. The Secretary of the Interior may acquire this land through voluntary means - such as donations, purchases from willing sellers, or conservation easements - using existing funds, but cannot use eminent domain. The bill requires public input during planning and ensures acquired land is managed under existing refuge rules, prioritizing wildlife observation, fishing, and environmental education. It also includes minor technical updates to another refuge's administrative provisions.
