Restoring American Deterrence Act of 2024

This bill directs the Department of Defense to develop a comprehensive strategy for maintaining and modernizing U.S. nuclear and conventional military capabilities to address evolving threats from China, Russia, North Korea, and Iran. It requires assessments of force sizing needs, modernization of missile warning systems, development of a national workforce strategy for the nuclear security enterprise, and creation of an integrated air and missile defense architecture. The bill also establishes a new Assistant Secretary of Defense for Nuclear Deterrence Policy and Programs, authorizes potential deployment of additional intercontinental ballistic missiles, and aims to restore domestic uranium enrichment capabilities. These measures are intended to strengthen U.S. strategic deterrence and national security posture against emerging global threats.
