Gambling Addiction, Recovery, Investment, and Treatment Act

This bill establishes federal grants for states to address gambling addiction through the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), using funding tied to gambling tax revenue. It allocates 37.5% of estimated gambling tax revenue annually to states for treatment programs, following existing substance abuse funding formulas, and 12.5% for research on gambling addiction via the National Institute on Drug Abuse. States must apply for funds, with unclaimed amounts redistributed proportionally. The bill requires a 3-year report to Congress on program effectiveness and authorizes funding for fiscal years 2023-2032.
