Paperwork Burden Reduction Act

This bill (S 3202) modifies how employers and health insurers provide health insurance coverage statements to individuals under IRS reporting rules. It allows these entities to stop sending automatic statements by instead providing clear notice that individuals can request copies. If requested, they must deliver the statement by either January 31 of the following year or 30 days after the request, whichever is later. The change applies to reports for calendar years after 2023 and directly affects employers and insurers required to report coverage under Internal Revenue Code sections 6055 and 6056.
