HR 9919 United States House · 118th Congress

Postmaster General Reform Act of 2024

This bill changes how the U.S. Postal Service's leader is appointed and managed. It requires the President to nominate the Postmaster General with Senate confirmation, replaces the previous appointment process, and limits the position to a maximum of 10 years (two 5-year terms). The Postmaster General will also become a voting member of the Postal Service's Board of Governors. These changes directly affect the leadership structure of the U.S. Postal Service and the selection process for its chief executive.
