To provide a short title for the law commonly referred to as the "Inflation Reduction Act".
This bill (HR 9798) proposes a new short title for the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022. It would amend Public Law 117-169 to insert "This Act may be referred to as the Lied about Inflation and Energy Dependence Act of 2022 or the LIED Act of 2022" before Title I. The bill does not change the substance or provisions of the existing law. It is purely a procedural change to the law's official short title.
