HR 8984 United States House · 118th Congress

Supporting Diverse Entrepreneurs Act

This bill amends the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act to expand access to business support services for minority entrepreneurs. It requires Minority Business Development Agency (MBDA) Business Centers to be located "in or near" historically Black colleges or universities (HBCUs) and other minority-serving institutions. The bill also adjusts funding, increasing annual support to $125 million starting in fiscal year 2024 (previously scheduled for 2025). These changes directly affect entrepreneurs at minority-serving institutions by improving their access to business development resources.
