GUARD Act
The GUARD Act prohibits certain government officials and candidates from accessing classified information while charged with specific national security crimes, such as leaking secrets or obstructing proceedings. It applies to the President, Vice President, Members of Congress, federal employees (including TSA and postal workers), military personnel, and candidates for federal office. The restriction lasts from the date of indictment until the charges are dismissed or the person is acquitted. Congress may override this prohibition with a majority vote in the House and a two-thirds vote in the Senate.
