Wildfire Insurance Coverage Study Act of 2024

This bill directs the Government Accountability Office (GAO) to study wildfire insurance coverage across the United States. The study will analyze how insurance rates, coverage availability, and state regulations have evolved over the past decade, including geographic patterns and reasons for changes like rate increases or policy non-renewals. It will also examine challenges insurers face in assessing wildfire risk and potential solutions to improve affordability and access for homeowners and businesses. The GAO must submit a final report to Congress within 24 months of the bill's enactment.
