Insider Threat Assessment Act

The Insider Threat Assessment Act (HR 4265) mandates a GAO study to evaluate how the Department of Defense (DoD) protects classified information from insider threats. The study will examine DoD's response to security deficiencies, use of system controls (like audits and access limits), and prevention of unauthorized removal of classified materials. The GAO must provide preliminary findings to the House Armed Services Committee within 180 days of enactment, followed by a final report detailing its assessment of DoD's insider threat mitigation efforts.
