Care Packages for Our Heroes Act of 2023
This bill establishes lower postage rates for priority mail packages sent from the U.S. to overseas military addresses (Army Post Offices, Fleet Post Offices, or Diplomatic Post Offices). It requires the Postal Service to set these rates at no higher than the domestic Zone 2 rate within 180 days of enactment, reducing shipping costs for care packages sent to military personnel stationed abroad. The Postal Service will be reimbursed for any revenue loss from this rate change through annual appropriations equal to the difference between expected and actual revenue. This directly affects military families, veterans' groups, and organizations sending care packages to service members overseas.
