TMTG Act
The TMTG Act limits how much capital gain executive branch officials (including the President and Vice President) can defer when selling property to avoid conflicts of interest. It caps the total deferred gain at $100 million across all years for these officials. If an official leaves their position, any unused deferred gain must be recognized (and taxed) in that year. The bill amends tax code provisions to implement these changes, effective after enactment.
