HR 10430 United States House · 118th Congress

Veterans Foreign Medical Coverage Equality and Modernization Act of 2024

This bill allows the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to cover hospital care and medical services for veterans outside the U.S. who have a service-connected disability rated as permanent and total. It requires that care align with U.S. medical standards and any prescribed medications must be FDA-approved. The VA must also implement digital tools for submitting forms and tracking claims, and use direct deposit for faster reimbursements to veterans and providers. The changes take effect 90 days after enactment, with a two-year report to Congress on implementation.
