HR 10163 United States House · 118th Congress

Housing to Homes Act of 2024

This bill expands the federal Continuum of Care Program to include funding for furniture banks that provide household furnishings (like beds and tables) at low or no cost to homeless individuals and families. It specifically allows payments to these organizations for delivering, installing, and assembling furnishings to three groups: currently homeless people, those recently homeless now in permanent housing, and those in permanent supportive housing. All furnishings provided become the sole property of the recipient family. The program requires a report on its impact within three years and expires five years after enactment.
