Relating to a limitation on the amount of tuition charged by public institutions of higher education.

SB 915 limits tuition increases at Texas public colleges and universities. Starting with the 2026-2027 academic year, institutions cannot charge more tuition than they did for similarly situated students in 2025-2026. After 2029-2030, tuition increases for subsequent years are capped to the previous year's rate adjusted for inflation (based on the Consumer Price Index). The bill applies to all public institutions of higher education and affects students based on residency, program, course load, and other factors determining their tuition rate. The cap expires on September 1, 2030.
