Relating to the imposition of a fee for oil and gas waste that is not produced in this state.

SB 2800 would require a 20-cent fee per barrel for oil and gas waste disposed of in Texas that was not produced in the state. This fee applies to waste disposal facilities and can be passed on to the out-of-state producer who generated the waste. The collected fees would fund the oil and gas regulation and cleanup program under state law. The bill takes effect on September 1, 2025.
