Relating to high school deputy voter registrars.

SB 2738 requires Texas public and private high schools to provide voter registration assistance to students. Schools must distribute registration forms to 12th graders and eligible students twice per school year via hand delivery or school packets, and hold at least two annual voter registration drives during instructional time with a deputy registrar present. Schools must report form distribution details, locations, timing, and personnel to the secretary of state by August 31 each year. Additionally, schools must offer annual voter registration training for students, staff, parents, and community members in collaboration with county election offices. The bill takes effect September 1, 2025.
