Relating to the disclosure of certain financial information by certain nonprofit organizations that enter into sizeable contracts with political subdivisions.

HB 4188 requires nonprofits (including economic development corporations) that sign contracts exceeding $500,000 with local governments (like cities, counties, or school districts) to disclose two specific financial details: their current operating budget and a list of employees earning above the median state employee salary. These nonprofits must provide this information when signing the contract and update it annually by the 30th day of each fiscal year. Local governments must then publish all disclosed information on their public websites. The comptroller will annually determine and publish the median state employee salary for reference. The bill takes effect September 1, 2025.
