Tre Hargett is the 37th Secretary of State of Tennessee, having previously served in the Tennessee House of Representatives from 1996 to 2006 (twice elected Republican Leader) and as chairman of the Tennessee Regulatory Authority. He assumed office on January 15, 2009.
