Boats, Boating - As enacted, authorizes the establishment of a special temporary, slow no wake zone, if such zone is necessary because of an immediate danger to the public health, environment, safety, or welfare, and the nature of the necessity is such that an emergency rule cannot immediately be sought. - Amends TCA Title 69, Chapter 9.
This bill amends Tennessee's boating regulations to extend the time limit for establishing temporary no-wake zones from 15 to 20 days. It applies to situations where an immediate danger to public health, safety, or the environment exists but does not allow for the standard emergency rule process. The change gives officials additional time to set up these restricted water areas when urgent conditions arise that cannot be addressed through existing emergency procedures.
