Environment and Conservation, Department of - As enacted, prohibits the department from charging a permit application fee to a local government entity for a general aquatic resource alteration permit for emergency infrastructure repair, or a general aquatic resource alteration permit for maintenance activities, necessary to replace or otherwise maintain a culvert. - Amends TCA Title 4; Title 5; Title 6; Title 7; Title 68 and Title 69.

This law requires the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation to refund half of the permit fee for local governments that maintain or replace culverts. The refund is only given if the department inspects the culvert and confirms it meets all state and federal legal standards.
