Teachers, Principals and School Personnel - As enacted, allows all LEA and public charter school employees, instead of only teachers, to receive their full salary, or average pay, and full benefits in the event they sustain a personal injury as the result of a physical assault or other violent criminal act committed against them while they are acting in the course and scope of their employment. - Amends TCA Title 49.

This law expands financial protection for school staff in Tennessee by allowing all employees, not just teachers, to receive full pay and benefits if they are injured due to a violent crime while working. It applies to both salaried and hourly workers at local school districts and public charter schools, ensuring they continue to get their regular income and health coverage until a doctor says they can return or are permanently disabled.
