Courts, Administrative Office of the - As enacted, directs the administrative office of the courts (AOC) to define and develop a centralized system of case management, document management, electronic case filing, electronic payment methods, data reporting, and any other capability deemed necessary for collection and reporting of all state and local court public case level data. - Amends TCA Title 8; Title 16 and Title 18.
This bill directs the Administrative Office of the Courts to create a single, statewide system for managing court cases, documents, and electronic payments. The new system is designed to collect and report public case data in a uniform way that is easy to access and analyze. While the new system is being built, court clerks must continue using their current computer setups to submit required data. Once the new system is finished, all court clerk offices across the state will switch to it on a schedule set by the Administrative Office. The bill also requires regular progress reports on the project's development and costs to be sent to state officials.
