Coverage is restricted to cases where the patient exhibits specific symptoms, such as multiple congenital anomalies, severe muscle weakness, or abnormal lab results, and where a doctor determines that a timely molecular diagnosis is necessary to guide treatment. While the bill establishes these requirements for insurance coverage, it also permits the state to add further conditions based on new medical evidence and allows for the use of generated genetic data in scientific research with proper consent.
