Jonathan Green Maritime Cultural Center

This Senate resolution formally celebrates the grand opening of the Jonathan Green Maritime Cultural Center at the University of South Carolina Beaufort. The document honors the center as the first maritime museum dedicated exclusively to African-descended maritime art, history, and culture, named after internationally acclaimed artist Jonathan Green. It recognizes the institution's role in preserving and interpreting the legacy of African diasporic coastal communities within the Gullah Geechee Cultural Heritage Corridor. Copies of the resolution are to be presented to Jonathan Green, Dr. Kim Cliett Long, and the center's leadership.
