A BILL TO AMEND THE SOUTH CAROLINA CODE OF LAWS BY AMENDING SECTION 16-3-600, RELATING TO ASSAULT AND BATTERY OFFENSES, SO AS TO ADD THAT ASSAULT AND BATTERY OF A HIGH AND AGGRAVATED NATURE OCCURS WHEN A PERSON INJURES A HEALTHCARE WORKER OR EMERGENCY RESPONSE EMPLOYEE IN THE DISCHARGE OF OR BECAUSE OF THEIR OFFICIAL DUTIES.
