AN ACT RELATING TO MOTOR AND OTHER VEHICLES -- REGISTRATION FEES
SB 2863 amends Rhode Island vehicle registration laws to exempt the Rhode Island Disaster Medical Assistance Team, Inc. from paying registration fees for its motor vehicles and trailers. This change adds the organization to a long list of existing groups, such as ambulances, fire departments, and bloodmobiles, that are already relieved of these costs. The bill does not alter the requirement for these vehicles to display specific identification plates or markers. It became effective one year after being signed into law by the Governor.
