AN ACT RELATING TO ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES -- MANUFACTURING AND WHOLESALE LICENSES

This bill prohibits manufacturers of distilled spirits and wines from holding or having any financial interest in a wholesaler's license within the state. The law bars manufacturers from owning, partnering with, or influencing wholesalers through various means such as stock ownership, shared directors, or guarantees. However, it allows current manufacturers who already hold both licenses to keep them, though they cannot transfer the wholesaler license to another party. The measure aims to separate the manufacturing and wholesale sides of the alcohol business to prevent conflicts of interest.
