An Act amending Title 61 (Prisons and Parole) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes, in Pennsylvania Board of Probation and Parole, further providing for Pennsylvania Parole Board and for incompatible offices and removal.

This bill expands the Pennsylvania Parole Board by adding Kane as a co-sponsor and amending the statute to explicitly address incompatible offices and removal of board members. The most significant change is the addition of a new section requiring board members to obtain prior approval from the Office of General Counsel before engaging in any outside business, profession, or employment to prevent conflicts of interest. Additionally, the effective date of the act was changed from 60 days to immediately, allowing the new conflict-of-interest rules to apply right away.
